"Today, United States companies are realizing they must begin
to compete in a world market. This, many times, requires making
changes in methods of operation," say Timothy C. Stansfield,
industrial engineer and founder of Industrial Engineering
Technologies.
IET's market niche is the design or conversion to synchronous
manufacturing systems for industry. "Using the just-in-time
method," according to Stansfield, "is one way American manufacturers
can compete globally." IET helps companies convert to this
style of manufacturing. "We provide the method for companies
to link all manufacturing processes together so they can make
what they need when they need it," Stansfield stated.
The firm designs projects, systems, and puts teams together
either for existing or new manufacturers. Over 70 percent
of IET's client base is the Midwest automotive supplier industry.
In business for a year, Stansfield, in an expansion mode,
recently formed a partnership with engineer Bill Proctor and
acquired a 2400 square foot office building on Tedrow Road
in South Toledo. A total renovation of the 30 year old facility
is underway. Stansfield explained the firm will occupy one
half of the space now and will grow to need the entire square
footage.
