Toledo's IET, Inc. has debuted a self-paced training course
to provide "the techniques and rationale for setting time
standards in competitive manufacturing and service companies."
According to IET director of marketing Wendy Hurtado, the
VIA, Productivity through Time Study course has been designed
for engineers, production supervisors, team leaders and shop
floor personnel.
The "graphic, interactive software" provides theory and practical
examples, and the course also includes a workbook, performance
rating videos, and an internal certification exam.
"Time study remains the quickest and most efficient method
for developing work standards," an IET news release touting
the VIA time study course states. "Productivity improvement,
cost reduction and goal-setting can be achieved through the
establishment and maintenance of accurate work standards.
People with goals outperform people without goals."
