Perform predetermined time study on selected assembly lines to balance the lines.

IET studied the assembly lines for two week, recording all operation elements. This included machine downtime and operator error. Data was collected, totaled, and discussed with the client.

Current throughput time was reduced from 48 seconds to 46 seconds utilizing existing layout and operators.

A second line was balanced from 73 seconds per piece to 58 seconds per piece.

IET also proposed a plan to improve the throughput rate by 20% without investing in any additional resources.

Another solution proposed various cost effective improvements to achieve reduced operator motions and a target time of 42 seconds per piece.
