Develop an MS Access model to calculate plant-level component volumes and manning requirements from worldwide automobile requirements.

The program had to provide a single consistent source of engineering calculations of capacity and manning requirements, component volumes and standardized reports for upper management on a weekly, quarterly, and annual basis using automobile model year volumes downloaded from a corporate Oracle-based database.

IET developed a software solution that provided the automotive component manufacturer with the ability to download vehicle volumes from the corporate database and calculate at the plant level: the capacity of all the required processes, the appropriate number of components and assemblies required, the manning required to produce the desired volumes, and the utilization of the machinery.

Reporting time was reduced from several weeks to several hours.

Consistent vehicle volumes were identified and used for all reports regardless of its origin.

Manning requirements could be forecasted for a six year time period.

Process and machine loading reports easily identified any required capital expenditures for equipment.

Reports could easily and consistently be generated for any one of a variety of vehicle volumes as requested.
