Develop a software program to track estimating, project cost, inventory and accounting functions associated with a custom fabrication job.

The program had to provide a method of estimating new jobs from drawings and tracking the cost of the job in order to continuously improve the estimating process and provide an accurate portrayal of the state of the business.

IET developed a database solution that provided the custom fabrication shop with the ability to enter estimated material and labor requirements and to track the actual cost of material, overhead, direct and indirect labor. Additionally, the program included modules for inventory control, purchasing, invoicing, scheduling, and profit & loss reporting.

The number of required project managers was reduced from four to two while more consistent estimates based on actual costs reduced losses.

Accurate reporting of job costs and the state of business could be generated at the touch of a button.

Inventory was reduced and inventory turnover was increased.
